Whether you're 14 years old, or 74 years old, stretching should be a part of your regular athletic routine.
As Tobin McDuff finds out in this edition of Athletic Advantage, stretching is more than just a pregame ritual.
Can you think of a sporting event you've been to where you didn't see an athlete warming up or stretching?
I didn't think so. And there is a very good reason for that.
"Stretching is a warmup for every sport," says physical therapist Jeremy Woodward. "What it does is increase the length in some muscles and some of the tissues around the joint. We do use that in a rehabilitative purpose as well."
