By: KBTV
Updated: November 22, 2012
All lanes of Interstate 10 have re-opened following a massive pileup that claimed two lives and shut down the highway for most of the day.

The wreck was centered near Mile Marker 831, between Taylor's Bayou and Hamshire Road in Jefferson County.

There were two confirmed fatalities.  The Hispanic man and woman were in a 2007 Chevy SUV crushed under an 18-wheeler.

They are from Pearland, but their names have not been released pending the notification of their family.

Shortly before 3:30 this afternoon, Sergeant Chuck Havard with the Texas Department of Public Safety told Fox 4 that between 30 to 50 people have been taken to hospitals.
