A California family is thankful this holiday season for a small bundle of joy who came to this world following a very long ordeal.

After ten days of labor, one pound, 12-ounce Bodi Ray was born. She came three months premature and despite constant bed rest and multiple rounds of drugs to try and stop contractions, doctors weren't able to postpone labor.

Parents Stephanie and Bo Brandenburg say it's still a roller coaster for their micro-preemie, but Bodi is eating and her lungs are getting stronger every day and they're staying strong for her.

New mother Stephanie Brandenberg said, "I knew every day her chances were better, so I just kept on going. I didn't wanna give up, did not want to give up."

Doctors say Bodi Ray must stay in the hospital at least until her expected due date, which was February 21st.
