If you've been out shopping at all this weekend you might have witnessed the mad dash to get some massive discounts during Black Friday sales.

But all those doorbusters were offered at retail giants.

Not your neighborhood store.

Small Business Saturday is a day to celebrate your community.

And today local stores owners are doing everything they can to get customers to come inside their business and buy.

It's a big day for some local stores.

"It's twenty five dollars off any shoe or boot, and we are also doing 30 to 75 percent off our fall clothing," said Amy Mayo from The Shoe Closet.

"We are doing 50 percent off some of our tickets that are marked and then 20 percent off our regularly priced merchandise," said Dodie Robey from Upscale Resale.

Small businesses doing whatever they can to reel customers in, after retail giants had their big Black Friday sales.

But while it may be easier for the big companies to offer major discounts, small businesses say they offer something that's priceless.

"Customer service, when you walk in the door, we want to greet you, make you feel welcome and to not make you look around to try to find somebody to help you, make suggestions," said Mayo.

"They let you shop comfortably and you're not trying to fight everybody," said shopper, Aubrey Kreska.

And it's those hospitable charms that keep these businesses a float and keep customers coming back.

And both The Shoe Closet and Upscale Resale said they were busy with customers throughout the day, a great way to spend Small Business Saturday.
