The bipartisan group included the Oklahoma governor who's a republican, two other republicans and three democrats.
The six state leaders urged the White House and congress to work out a deal to avoid automatic tax hikes and spending cuts set to kick-in in January.
"There are some states that have experienced growth in their economies and are recovering and we know that we are still dealing with states that have lower unemployment rates and some that have higher unemployment rates and so we want to be part of the solution to the problems facing our nation," said Fallin.
President Obama wants to hold down tax rates for the lower and middle class and raise them for the wealthiest two percent of Americans. Republicans object to any tax hike.
And without a deal, taxes are set to go up for 90% of americans beginning January first.
