Updated: December 6, 2012

An Altus woman is reported in critical condition and two children were injured after the woman's car struck a cow in the roadway last night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a  2010 Mitsubishi driven by 21-year-old Kelsey Jackson of Altus was east bound on U.S. 283 southeast of Mangum around 11:15 last night when it struck the cow.

The vehicle then left the road to the right and rolled into a field. Jackson suffered head and internal injuries and was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A 2-year-old girl and 11-month-old boy were treated and released in Altus.

Troopers say seatbelts and restraints were in use by all the occupants.
