The winter months can wreak havoc on your looks, but you don't have to accept the chapped skin and dark circles.
First up, indoor heating and low humidity outside can leave your face dry and flaky. Try laying a washcloth soaked in cold whole milk across your face for 10 minutes. The natural lipids plump up and re-hydrate skin while the lactic acid removes flakes.
Next, for an itchy scalp with a lot of dandruff, rub in two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and two of olive oil. Then, rinse after 20 minutes.
Finally, dark circles and bags under the eyes are 44 percent more common in winter. To avoid them, eat more vitamin k, which stops capillaries from leaking into the skin pocket under the eyes.
Another cold season tip, increase your average amount of vitamins and minerals by up to 30 percent in the winter. The cold lowers blood flow, meaning less nutrients make it to the hair and nails, making them grow more slowly.
