City of Wichita Falls Snow Response

By: Ann Arnold
Updated: December 10, 2012
From the City of Wichita Falls:

City of Wichita Falls crews from several Departments responded to this morning's snow and icy roads.
Street crews hit the road at 7am with three sand trucks to spread chat on busy intersections, hills, overpasses and on and off ramps.

Fire and Police personnel have been responding to traffic and emergency response calls since the snow began to fall and roads began to ice up.

The Traffic Engineering Division responded to several "sign down" calls and will be working to replace those signs as well as a street pole and signal pole that were also knocked down.

The Sanitation Division will delay curbside trash collection for an hour and a half to give residential streets time to thaw. Collection should begin at 10:30am.

Kickapoo Airport is open. Municipal airport is open. The first flight scheduled for departure from Municipal this morning was delayed by an hour-and-a-half. Fliers are encouraged to contact American Eagle at 1-800-433-7300 to confirm arriving and departing flight times.

Public Transportation is running on the normal schedule but pickup times can be delayed slightly. Riders are advised to arrive at their stops at the regularly scheduled times
