If you have not bought the perfect gift for that special someone, Hospice of Wichita Falls is asking you to consider lighting a light on a special Christmas tree.

Hospice officials say they are $80,000 shy of meeting their $200,000 goal by their deadline, which is this Friday, Dec. 14.

The star on the Tree of Lights will shine brightly once the goal is reached.

Tricia Golding with the Hospice of Wichita Falls says they want to accomplish their mission of lighting the star this year.

"I think lighting that star sort of a significant thing in our community," Golding says. "People expect it. We're not accustomed to that star not being lit so it's a huge thing for those who have been on our service and those who will be on our service for years to come."
