We continue today with our 12 days of a safe Christmas, tips from the Wichita Falls Police Department that enable you to have a safe, happy holiday season.

The second tip is if you're planning on going out of town and being away from your home, set up automatic timers on your lights. From the outside looking in, it will seem as if someone is home.

Sergeant John Spragins said, "And consider leaving a TV or radio on inside the house.  It will give the sign that someone is always home."

Spragins says the few pennies this will cost you on your electric bill are certainly worth the investment because it will ward off criminals from your home. Stay tuned to KFDX for more tips on making this one a safe holiday season.
