Greyhound Bus Gets Stuck on a Wichita Falls Highway

The bus coming from Amarillo broke down around 10:30 Sunday morning on the side of the highway here in Wichita Falls. Holiday traveler Kristen Widener said, "We didnt have any breaks. The door came opened so we pulled over."
Kristen has been traveling for the last five days. She is trying to get to Houston but now her plans have to be pushed back even more. "This really screws it all up ya know for a lack of better words. There's so many, the stuff that's going on right now that we're missing. My baby is suppose to meet her grandmother for the first time and you know it's just delaying everything," said Widener.
Passengers say the company told them a new bus would arrive in just two hours, but a few hours turned into a few more. After waiting for quite some time, some of the passengers tried to call Greyhound. However they got no response.
That frustrated travelers like Brad Hinkle who is trying to get to Florida to celebrate Christmas. "We're broken down, were promised a bus for hours now we've been here close to five hours and there is no one here helping us," Hinkle said.
Around 3:30 Sunday afternoon a new bus finally arrived but for some of the travelers it was too late to make their connections in Dallas. Most of the folks we talked to said they would be making other travel arrangements for their return trips home.
"There's people with babies here, there's people traveling with very little money, there's people going home for the holiday's and this is the respect we get."
The Greyhound driver refused to comment on the situation and several calls we placed to the company were never returned.
