Kids in Iowa Park have an improved park to play in and it is all thanks to a project by a high school senior.

Rotary Park has received a $7,000 makeover, which includes new toddler swings, regulation soccer goals, and a fresh coat of paint on barbecue grills and other park equipment.

Although the improvements were part of a high school senior's Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar project, it is something Madison Yandell says will benefit the entire city.

"This side of Iowa Park doesn't offer a lot as far as parks of this nature and this size that really compare to what some of the other areas of Iowa Park have on the Northern side so this was a project I felt was something that influenced this area and really benefit this area," Yandell says.

Yandell says concrete for the basketball area is expected to be poured this weekend; weather permitting.

And it should be open for use later this month.
