A man is arrested Thursday afternoon for firing a gun inside the Wichita Falls city limits.

33-year-old Javier Vallejo is charged now with discharging a fire arm in certain municipalities, unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana.

Wichita Falls police received a call around 4 Thursday afternoon about a man firing a gun out of his car near 11th and Brook.

An officer spotted a car matching the description and attempted to pull it over. Officials say the car made a sharp left hand turn on Pearl Street and finally stopped in the 16-hundred block of Alma.

Police say they found a shell casing inside the car and casings in the street near 11th and Brook. Police say they also found a 45 caliber handgun in the front yard of a home on Pearl.

They also smelled marijuana and found less than 2 ounces inside the vehicle. Vallejo's bond has not been set at this time.
