To set a good example the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Health District is now tobacco free. The tobacco free designation includes the main health department building on 3rd Street and the Animal Services Center on Hatton Road.

The policy prohibits the use of all tobacco products anywhere on the sites, including the parking lots. In making the announcement, the health department expressed hope that all city property will eventually become tobacco free.

Current policy prohibits city employees from using tobacco within 30 feet of the public entrances to any city facility. Smoking is not allowed in city vehicles, although dipping and chewing are allowed in city facilities and vehicles.
