Iit was all to help Sandy Hook Elementary School following last month's tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Dozens of people showed up for today's Zumbathon event.
The coordinator said she got goose bumps just seeing how many people were there.
All of them hoping that today's work out would work up the strength to move Sand Hook forward.
It started with a prayer.
Hundreds of people gathered on the gym floor at the Bill Bartley YMCA in light of the Newtown Connecticut shooting.
"I just know what they have gone through and I just really wanted to support them. and I felt like this is a great way to start," said Audrey Barnare.
They held candles.
26 of them red, to remember those victims who died during the sandy hook shooting.
While all the others were white, representing hope, which is exactly what these people plan to bring to the folks in Newtown.
For a total of 3 hour these people kept their feet moving to help move forward those miles away.
"I just love that our community cares enough about a community far away and that's exactly what the YMCA is about, and that's exactly what I wanted this to be about," Lacie Edwards the Zumbathon Coordinator said.
About helping those who are hurting.
By putting their bodies into motion helping Sandy Hook Elementary move to healing.
The event raised about 15 hundred dollars which will directly benefit those students and teachers at Sandy Hook.
