Health Officals Encourage Getting a Flu Shot

Here in Wichita County, the number of flu cases is on the rise.

According to Lou Kreidler, director of the Wichita Falls/Wichita County Public Health District, more than 30 cases of the flu have been reported in Wichita Falls.

And she says that number is increasing.

That's why she is urging anyone who has not been vaccinated to do so.

Kreidler says the health department has plenty of doses of flu vaccine.

They are available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at their office at 1700 Third Street.

For more information on the cost of a flu shot or the flu mist, call the health department at (940) 761-7800.

And take note, Kreidler says once you are vaccinated it takes two weeks for that shot to protect you.
