Another Arrest Made in Alleged Theft from Bell Processing

By: Melissa Foy
Updated: January 8, 2013
Another suspect is charged in connection with a series of copper wire thefts from a recycling yard in which the stolen metal was allegedly being sold back to the same company.
Twenty-five year-old Brandon Bales is now in custody and charged in the thefts.
He's charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and is jailed on a $50-thousand bond.
Police say Bales is included in a group of about 10 people who were stealing copper wiring from Bell Processing late at night.
Company officials became suspicious when the same people began coming in, sometimes together and sometimes separately, selling wire that matched wire the company had bought from Oklahoma.
Sale tickets show  in just one week, over one-thousand pounds of the more than 42-hundred pounds from the spools of wire had been repurchased.
