San Antonio, Texas teachers received free training on how to disarm a gunman on Friday.
They're getting prepared for what has become a grim reality of workplace and school shootings.
Trainer Pete Hardy of STW 911 Defense wanted to make sure the teachers were trained to become first responders.
He offered to instruct more than 100 teachers from all over Texas the skills and tactics to protect others from the line of fire -- in those precious minutes before law enforcement arrives.
UT School of Pharmacy teacher Sarah Villarreal says she would like to have some skills to give her a fighting chance.
"I don't think there is a way to fully prepare. I would never expect this to happen at work. It's better to have something than nothing -- and do nothing," said Villarreal.
