One year after 66-year-old Muhammad "Mo" Ahmad was fatally shot while working at Mo's Grocery on Old Iowa Park Rd., customers are remembering the man they say was much more than a gas station clerk.
Leroy Caine says, "I called him Papa Mo."
Oscar Baxter says, "It totally floored me.  I can't believe someone would shoot him and kill him."
Stories about Mo giving away free gas and groceries to those who found themselves in a bind are not uncommon.
"He helped people a lot," Caine says.  "He'd give them credit, gas to keep them going to work, give them credit if they needed groceries." 15:18:47
"He was a wonderful man," Baxter says.  "He'd do anything for you.  I mean, if you needed something, he would give it to you."
"One of the finest men I've ever met," Caine says.  "He treated me with dignity."
Three-hundred sixty-five days without seeing that smiling face behind the counter, yet his memory lives on.
"Mo was a wonderful person," Baxter says.  "I'm sure his family still has the store and I want to support them."
Michael Shay Graves and Clifton John Russell IV are each charged with capital murder in Mo's death.
Court documents show prosecutors will not seek the death penalty in either case.
Police say Russell admitted to shooting Ahmad and that Graves admitted standing at the door as a lookout during the robbery.
Graves is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 24.
There's no court date set for Russell.
Both Graves and Russell remain in the Wichita County Jail on bonds totaling at least $1.5-million each.
