Doctors Offer Advice to Flu Patients

The number of flu cases continues to increase in the Wichita Falls area which is prompting doctors at one hospital to offer some advice.
Patients have been coming to United Regional's emergency room since November 28th.
Doctors say their number of positive flu cases has increased from 112 last Wednesday to 139 today.
But doctors say the packed ER is causing the bug to spread and increasing the wait time.
So, doctors are advising patients to call their health care provider instead of instead of coming to the ER because they say your physician can write you a prescription without see you.
Of course, the best way to keep the flu bug at bay is to get a flu shot.
The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District has about 350 adult doses of the flu vaccine.
And they're holding a late immunization clinic this Tuesday from 5 to 6:30pm.
