Vernon Teacher Pleads Guilty to Improper Relationship with Student

    Breaking news out of Vernon this afternoon where a Vernon High School teacher is sentenced after pleading guilty to a charge of improper relationship with a student.
    Kami Mauldin was sentenced in 46th Judicial Court.
    She's sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication.
    She'll also have to register as a sex offender for the next five years.
    Mauldin will also have to relinquish her teaching certificate.
    Wilbarger County Sheriff Larry Lee says Mauldin had intercourse with a 15-year-old sophomore student.
    She was arrested this morning before going to court, after an investigation involving the school district, the Wilbarger County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Rangers.
