On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a large percentage of Americans say it should remain the law of the land.
On this date in 1973, in a landmark decision, the US Supreme Court legalized abortions under most conditions.
Now a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll finds a whopping 70% of Americans say Roe v. Wade should not be overturned.
That is the highest percentage on that question since 1989. The poll also found that 54% of Americans say abortion should be legal either always or most of the time.
