Two apartments were damaged Thursday when a car lost control and slammed into a a northwest Houston, Texas building.
Hernan Bonilla, 15, and his uncle were asleep in their apartment around 3 a.m. when they woke up to a car crashing into their corner bedroom. It narrowly missed them.
"If it wasn't for my uncle, all the stuff would have fallen on me," Bonilla said. "As soon as he heard, he pushed me off the bed."
"I just heard like a big noise, like a bomb, and I just wake up and I see just the car in my apartment," Victor Vargas said.
Victor said his 10-year-old daughter, Daisy, was in the bedroom.
Investigators said the driver did not stop at a red light and turn when the street ended, plowing through a metal fence at the complex, hitting one building and then bouncing into a second.
