Frederick Open Hangar Days Set for Saturday

Excitement is expected to soar tomorrow during the World War II Airborne Open Hangar Day in Frederick.

Each year hundreds head to the Frederick Municipal Airport for this event.

From planes, big and small, to a 1940's style military parachute jump demonstration, this event will have all eyes on the skies.

Open Hangar Day is Saturday at the Frederick Municipal Airport's Army Airfiled section from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Events include demonstration jumps at 7:30 a.m., as well as a wing pinning ceremony at 1 p.m.

And coordinators say wind conditions may change the times of some demonistrations.

Here is a complete list of activities:

6:30 a.m. Gear up and JMPI

7:30 a.m. Demonstration Jumps (Weather Permitting)

10 a.m. Veterans Introduction and Recognition

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Equipment and Uniform Displays in the Hanger

1 p.m. Wing Pinning Ceremony
