Today, county commissioners gave their approval for inmates to help the local chapter of Special Olympics.
For the past three years, county inmates have helped load and set up the equipment needed for local Special Olympics competitions.
Commissioners' approval today allows inmates to continue to help the organization in this way.
Mike Strickland, who's the area director for Special Olympics Texas, says the inmates have been a tremendous help in the past and without them, some of the games might not be possible.
