Police make an arrest in another reported shooting that happened late last month.

According to an arrest affidavit, 27 year old Joshua Johnson was shot in the leg trying to break into a home.

A resident in the 700 block of Harrison says he saw Johnson standing out by the homeowner's car parked on the street. The homeowner says he approached Johnson who struck him in the shoulder with a chain with a padlock attached to it. The homeowner went back into his home and got a shotgun.

He says he approached Johnson as he was trying to break into another home in the 700 block of Harrison. The homeowner says Johnson grabbed his gun and during a struggle, the gun was accidentally discharged and Johnson was shot in the leg.

Police say Johnson underwent surgery and had his leg amputated at the knee. He's charged with aggravated assault for assaulting the homeowner. Johnson is jailed on a 50 thousand dollar bond.
