Early Morning Explosion at East Texas Oil Storage Facility Leaves Two Hospitalized

Two people are hospitalized after an early morning explosion and fire at an East Texas oil storage facility.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at a facility located about 75 miles east of Dallas.

According to authorities, the two victims trespassed onto the facility and were smoking on top of one of the storage tanks when it exploded. 

Both victims are hospitalized in serious condition. The fire and blast spread to two additional tanks. Firefighters used a foam blanket to prevent the fire from spreading to more tanks.
