A Lawton man and his girlfriend are sentenced to prison for severely scalding the woman's four-year-old son last April.

Police say 25-year-old Charles Hennessee III scalded the boy in the bathtub while his girlfriend Stephanie Ann Avery was at work.

They say she found out about it early in the day, but they watied until later that night to take him to the hospital for treatment of the severe burns.

Hennessee was set to go to trial this week, but  decided to plead guilty to the charge of child abuse by injury.

He received a 30 year sentence, 15 years of which was suspended, with 3 years of department of corrections supervision after the sentence is served.

Avery pleaded guilty to enabling child abuse and was sentenced to 20 years, with 10 years suspended and 3 years of supervision.
