Eric Jeansonne

Eric Jeansonne knew he wanted to be a meteorologist as early as five years old when Hurricane Andrew tracked through his home state of Louisiana.

His life-long interest in weather brought him to the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and minored in Broadcast Journalism.

During his time at OU, Eric had the opportunity to forecast everything from tornado outbreaks to crippling winter storms and is excited to bring this forecasting experience to Texoma. Eric was also a weather anchor for three years for OU's student-produced newscast, OU Nightly.

While in school, Eric gained experience as an intern at CNN where he helped produce weather content for the US and around the world. He also interned at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City for 2 years, assisting the weather team behind the scenes with forecasting and severe weather coverage.

When not busy indoors forecasting weather, Eric likes to go out and experience it! He has chased tornadoes across west Texas and Oklahoma. He has also been through 4 hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys gardening and landscaping.  He is also a big movie fan. When time permits, Eric enjoys taking road trips with friends, trying out local restaurants, and visiting local historical attractions.

Eric is excited to make Texoma his new home.  If you see him out and about be sure to ask him anything you'd like about weather - his favorite topic.
