Murder charges are now filed in the case of a 20 year old Graham woman who went missing a little more than a year ago.

Candice Shields was last seen at her grandparents home on December 10, 2011.

Officials say she was 3 months pregnant then, and also had a 2 year old child.

But since that time little progress has been announced on her disappearance until today.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said today the suspect, 24 year old Jeremy Paul Thornburg of Sweetwater, Texas has been a person of interest in the case.

Investigators say he had been in a "personal relationship" with Shields.

He was also one of the last people to have spoken with shields the night of her disappearance.

"Investigators developed information that shows Thornburg had traveled to Graham on the night of the disappearance and met at her residence in Graham. Shields then left the residence with Thornburg in the early hours on December 11, 2011," said Tony Fulton, the DPS Public Information Officer.

On the night of her disappearance Thornburg posted on Candice's facebook page that he missed her and please let him know something.

He was arrested yesterday in Abilene and charged with her murder.

Thornburg is being held in the Young county jail with a bond of 750 thousand dollars.

We could find no record of other felony crimes filed on Thornburg in Texas.

Investigators would not release any information on whether a body was found or any other information that led to the arrest.

We'll give you the latest information as it becomes available.
