(WCNC)  A North Carolina mom has started her own vending machine business after becoming frustrated with her kids' snack choices.

Patti Moore is a distributor for Healthy Vending by HUMAN.  She's a stay at home mom to three kids and has eight machines across Charlotte.

Moore says just a couple of years ago she thought she and her husband were eating healthy.

"We would do low fat, low carb, you know whatever the latest trend was," she said.

However, when one of her daughters developed a food allergy, Moore started reading labels and it surprised here, "I mean high fructose corn syrup, transfats, just artificial coloring, flavoring. Just all kinds of preservatives," she said.

The labels sparked an idea.

"We had this revelation that wow, we really need to look closer in to the things we're eating and we can do better for our family and then it was sort of a greater purpose, you know, we can do better in Charlotte."
