(WYFF)  Police in Greenville, South Carolina have released more details about the death of a 3-year-old who was killed by a gunshot wound to the head Friday night.

Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler said Temorej Smith's death was accidental following an autopsy Saturday morning.

On Monday police said the child and his 7-year-old sister were playing with a pink handgun which they thought was a toy when the shooting happened.

Fowler said that the child was in the bedroom and his grandparents were in the living room when the gun went off.

The boy's parents weren't home at the time.
