Last October we told you about the new chess clubs organized at Zundy Junior High by Principal Omar Montemayor.
Even though chess is a  new extra curricular activity at Zundy, the teams are already showing they can make the grade against other schools.
The two Zundy teams took first place this past weekend  at the  Region Two Chess Tournament in Keller.
It's a first for WFISD junior highs.
More than 60 students signed up for the club soon after it was announced.
    Way to go Zundy!
