Major Lucas Gruenther's Baby Girl is Born

Just a little after a week after the body of a former Sheppard jet pilot trainer was found off the coast of Italy, his baby girl has been born. The family posted the news today on the memorial web site of Major Lucas Gruenther.
 
His service was held yesterday at Aviano Air Force Base in Italy.

They say both baby Serene and mother Cassy are doing fine. Serene was born at 6:44 Italian time this morning.

His family is asking friends and strangers alike to post their thoughts and memories on a remembrance wall on the web site so his daughter will have them to read.

Team Sheppard raised almost $4,000 this past week to pay for Major Gruenther's and  Cassy's parents to fly to Italy.
