Quanah ISD has joined a growing list of Texas districts to allow teachers to arm themselves at school.
According to school officials, the district's board of trustees unanimously approved a school safety policy allowing certain school employees, if licensed, to carry a concealed handgun on school property.
The district's website shows school board members discussed the issue Monday night. Quanah ISD now joins Harrold ISD, the first school in the nation to allow teachers to carry concealed handguns, as well as a number of other schools across the state to make that decision.
