Updated: February 13, 2013

Archer City has announced plans to begin Stage 3 Drought Emergency, effective February 14th. This is being done due to the level of Lake Kickapoo being at or below 40% capacity.

During Stage 3 all restrictions from Stage 2 remain in effect in addition to new restrictions including:

All irrigation (residential and commercial) will be reduced to once a week, Monday through Friday, based on the Water Rationing Zone Map, which is the same as the Stage 2 map and is available at City Hall or on the City website.  Automatic sprinkler systems may be used from 12 midnight to 4 AM on the designated watering day and hose end sprinkler systems, drip irrigation and soaker hoses may be used from 8 PM to 12 midnight on the designated watering day. Hand watering can be done anytime but the hose MUST have an attachment with a shutoff nozzle. Residential swimming pools may be filled only on Wednesdays from 8 AM to 12 noon and pool water features such as fountains, waterfalls and slides are prohibited.  Driveways, patios and sidewalks cannot be washed unless an immediate health or safety risk is present. No washing vehicles unless at a commercial car wash, dealership, or automotive shop or detail shop.  Fundraising car washes are prohibited.

For questions please contact City Hall at 574-4570 or the complete Drought Contingency Plan may be viewed at www.archercity.org.
