(WBBH) A Florida mom is taking bus stop safety into her own hands. She says too many drivers don't stop for the school bus when it's picking up or dropping off students.
Armed with a sign and a safety vest, Ann Tomlinson is out every weekday at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to warn drivers they need to stop.
She says it's the only thing she can do to keep someone from getting hurt.
"My concern is for the safety of students," she said.
She says when students, including her daughter, are getting on or off the bus, sometimes drivers don't stop.
"I can't scream, I can't chase people down, I want to do something that's legal, so I thought, well I would notice someone standing with a big sign," Tomlinson said.
