Members of the "greatest generation" gathered for day two of the Annual Iwo Jima reunion in Wichita Falls.

And this morning their focus was honoring the famous raising of the flag atop Mount Suribachi.

As all eyes focused on the flag reenactment, in the ballroom at the Holiday Inn at the Falls, Patriot Guard Riders lined the ballroom with flags.

Current marines, stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base reenacted the ceremony, which took place on February 23rd, 1945.

And it was all narrated by Woody Williams, the last surviving medal of honor recipient from the battle of Iwo Gima.

"That was the first territory of the enemy that we had been able to capture. And when we put the flag on Mount Suribachi, that was put there to show that we are winning," he said.

"It brings back a lot of memories, some good, some bad. But it is so great to see some of our fellow military here, still alive and well after all these years," said Cy Young, another Iwo Jima veteran.

The 22nd annual Iwo Jima reunion continues with an "all forces dinner" tonight.

Then wraps up tomorrow morning at 9, with a memorial service.
