A Nocona ISD employee is killed and two others injured in a head-on collision this weekend. 49-year-old Dawn Carpenter was pronounced dead on the scene Saturday. She served as the Technology Director for Nocona ISD.

The crash happened 4 miles north of Wienert in Haskell County around 10 o'clock Saturday night. DPS trooper Tony Fulton says 51-year-old Jesus Ortiz of Weinert was driving the wrong way on Highway 277 when he struck the car Carpenter was in.

The driver and another passenger were both transported to Knox County Hospital. Ortiz was also injured. Fulton says he was taken to the Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

No word on their condition. Fulton says Carpenter was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
