Thirteenth District Congressman Mac Thornberry will again serve as vice chairman of the House of Representatives' Armed Services Committee.
Thornberry took over the position in Dec. 2010 at the request of Speaker of the House John Boehner.
The congressman will also serve as chairman of the Subcommittee on Intelligence, Emerging Threats, and Capabilities.
He's also been asked to continue his senior role on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for two more years.
Thornberry says it's a critical time for him to continue service on these committees as sequestration cuts are set to take effect March 1.
Tomorrow, Congressman Thornberry will be in Texoma to talk about the sequester and how those across-the-board spending cuts to federal programs will effect our community.
He'll be giving remarks during a Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce meeting.
That starts at 10 tomorrow morning at the Courtyard Marriott in the 38-hundred block of Tarry St.
