The Wichita Falls Police Department wants to enter a five-year contract with a local wrecker company for towing and impound services.
Tomorrow, city councilors will decide whether to allow the department to enter the five year contract with Jody Wade Enterprises.
Officials say there's been a significant increase in the number of vehicles impounded and seized.
They say this agreement will solve space issues at the current impound lot.
If the resolution is approved, the impounded vehicles would be stored at a lot in the 31-hundred block of Armory Rd.
Also on tomorrow's city council agenda, the police department will receive an award from the Texas Law Enforcement Recognition Program.
The program evaluates police department compliance with more than 165 best business practices for Texas law enforcement.
Wichita Falls' police department will receive the award for being a "recognized law enforcement agency."
