The City of Burkburnett is receiving a digital makeover thanks to taking the grand prize in a national contest.
The city took the sweepstakes prize worth more than $20,000, which includes 25 computers, wireless access points, interactive and vote display systems, laser printer, conference phone, document camera and more. The technology package will be used to uprade the City Council work areas.
The contest was organized by CDW Government of California and was open to all U.S. counties and cities.
The 5 winners were selected at random and Burkburnett was chosen as the sweepstakes winner. City Manager Tim James says the technology will streamline information gathering and make it more accessible to residents.
