New Exhibit Displays History of Wichita Falls at Museum of Art

The Lester Jones Photography collection is entitled "A Look at Wichita Falls" depicts Wichita Falls' transition from a prairie town to the commercial center of North Texas.
Some photos convey important events in the city's history, like the construction of skyscrapers, while others document more personal accomplishments.
Jones collection of photographs are from his family passing them done from each generations.
The photos are from 1892 to the 1940's.
"I hope it will spark some conversation between people who do know something about the history, and who happen to be at the exhibit they can talk to the people that don't," said Danny Bills, the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions.
"The Time of Water" is another new exhibit at the museum.
It features drawings, videos, and much more promoting greater understanding and cooperation among people and nations during unsettled times.
A free public opening reception is going on right now for both exhibits, and that reception will end at 8 p.m. tonight.
