All residents who evacuated a Wichita Falls neighborhood because of a gas leak have returned home and have utilities fully restored.

Yesterday around 5 p.m. a gas leak entered the city sewer system, forcing the evacuation of the Southwinds neighborhood.

City officials say the evacuation included more than 230 homes in an area that covered approximately one square mile.

Around 9:00 last night, the all clear was given for all but 9 residents to return to their home.

but officials tell us residents in those final 9 homes returned to their houses with electricity restored by 10:00 this morning and gas service by this afternoon.
