Midwestern State senior forward Corbin Thomas garnered Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon when league officials announced weekly awards.
The transfer from Missouri State erupted for a season-high 27 points and pull down 15 rebounds as the Mustangs clinched their fifth LSC title in the last seven years Wednesday night against Texas A&M-Commerce.
Thomas added his ninth double double of the season with a 19-point, 12-rebound effort Saturday at Tarleton State.
The 6-8 Chicago native shot 60.7 percent from the field (17-of-28) and was 11-of-14 from the charity stripe (78.6 percent) and even connected on his first 3-pointer of the season against A&M-Commerce.
For the week, Thomas averaged 23.0 points and 15.0 rebounds in 31.5 minutes per game.
The offensive award is Thomas' first of the season, but he has claimed three defensive player of the week honors.
Midwestern State plays host to Paul Quinn for Senior Day Sunday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
