Continuance Granted in Pre-Trial of Robert Gutierrez Jr.

A continuance is granted in pre-trial hearings for a former reserve officer for the Ryan Police Department charged with engaging in sexual communication with a minor by use of technology.

The hearing for 42-year-old Robert Gutierrez Junior is reset to March 26th. Gutierrez is charged with sending explicit texts to a 15- year-old girl. Authorities say the alleged victim was gutierrez's foster child several months before the alleged texts were sent.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials say they opened the case after the 15-year-old girl's current foster parent reported the texts to Lawton police who then notified them. Gutierrez was a reserve officer for the Ryan Police Department for almost a year and was assigned to patrol the grounds at Ryan Public School shortly after the Sandy Hook Tragedy.

He was on patrol for only three days before he turned himself in on December 20th. Gutierrez is out on a $20,000 bond.
