In 2011, the city ranked number 17. In another ranking last year, the Kiplinger Report, Wichita Falls was ranked as the 8th most inexpensive city. The rankings are based on cost of housing, utilities, groceries, health care and other goods and services.

According to the most recent list, the cost of living in Wichita Falls is about 16% lower than the national average.
