Monster Jam is rolling into the MPEC this weekend for a fun-filled time with the whole family.
While spectators get to see the final product during the show, lots of fine-tuning and last minute preps take place days and hours before the big show.
Monster Jam Production Manager Josh Posey says crews meticulously go over every detail to ensure everything goes right during the show.
"We do all of our sound checks, our lighting checks, video checks. Yeah, a lot going on today," Posey says.
Posey says crews spent the day putting the finishing touches on the track, getting all the crush cars into place and it was all made possible with the help of a local business.
"We have a local towing that will bring these cars here for us, the crush cars. They're usually donated so that's always good," Posey says.
In addition, the crush cars are then coated with bright colored paint to add that extra flare during the show.
Posey says, "If you've never been to a Monster Jam, I say, 'Come out and check it out'. I mean, it's definitely an event you got to see at least once in your life," Posey says.
Posey says since it's a traveling show, crews will be hard at work minutes after the truck's tires crush the final car.
"We should be getting out of here Saturday night," Posey says. "They break down the show really fast; couple of hours and we're out so the crew does an amazing job of getting us in and getting us out."
However, before that happens, the Monster Jam gears off at Kay Yeager Coliseum starting on March 1 at 7:30 p.m. and on a Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance for adults and $5 in advance for kids.
All seats are $2 more on the day of the show.
Also, a Party in the Pits will take place before the first show on Saturday.
It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The family can check out the monster trucks and take pictures with the drivers.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
