Woman Arrested for Assaulting Deputy

It wasn't a verbal threat that put 43 year old Leslie Ann Acosta behind bars but Wichita County sheriff's officials say it was for assaulting a peace officer on February 22nd at the Las Vegas club in Wichita Falls.
According to an affidavit, two deputies were at the club to serve a warrant on Acosta but when they tried to get her to leave the dance floor she rebelled by reportedly throwing a beer bottle, which struck one of the deputies on the chin.
Because the bottle was used as a deadly weapon Acosta was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer, a first degree felony.
Tonight, she remains in the Wichita County Jail.
