Stomachs are stuffed after hundreds of Texomans headed to Windthorst to enjoy a taste of Germany.

Folks stood in a long line to get their hands on homemade German sausage at the Windthorst Sausage Feed.

Plate after plate was piled full of sausage and all the trimmings.

Today's annual meal has been satisfying taste buds for more than 60 years, which is why folks flocked here to continue the long time tradition.

"It's a family recipe. There are only a few that know the recipe and that is including two of our firemen on the fire department," said Dallas Fillingim, of the Windthorst Volunteer Fire Department.

"It's good food. Windthorst is a good home and a good small community people just know it's supporting a good cause." said Brad Wolf, of 4th degree Knights of Columbus.

Coordinators say volunteers dished up German sausage to just under 17 hundred people today's annual meal, which will benefit the Windthorst Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Windthorth 4th degree Knights of Columbus.
